Celebrating JOY, Resilience and Care
Finding JOY in the Unexpected
Sometimes a little disruption turns into a lot of fun! When water main work near our new community @2730 temporarily shut off service, what could have been an inconvenience quickly became an opportunity. Instead of staying in, residents embraced the unexpected change with creativity and enthusiasm.
Strikes, Smiles, and Spontaneity
A spontaneous bowling outing turned an ordinary day into something memorable. Laughter echoed down the lanes, friendly competition sparked playful banter, and the outing created space for meaningful connection.
One unforgettable highlight? A resident who insisted she was not very good ended the game with the highest score. The cheers that followed were more than a celebration. They were a reminder of confidence, courage, and community support in action.
A special thank you to Highland Park Lanes Bowling Center, which generously covered the cost of the lanes and helped create a truly JOYful experience for our residents. Their kindness reflects the power of community partnerships and shared generosity.
Finding Opportunity in Every Moment
At Adeo, we believe even small pivots can create meaningful memories. When plans change, connection grows. When challenges arise, resilience shines. It is in these everyday moments that we see lives, elevated.
Celebrating Our Caregivers
Caregivers are the steady presence behind every step forward.
They offer dedication when progress feels slow.
They extend patience when challenges arise.
They show compassion in moments both big and small.
Most importantly, they create the foundation that allows individuals with brain injuries to move forward to this point and beyond. Since our founding in 1977 by Hope Cassidy and with a focused commitment to brain injury support beginning in 2004, Adeo has sought to lift up the lives of people facing complex health challenges. Today, we proudly provide full support for major life activities for people living with the residual impact of a brain injury, including housing, wellness, and opportunities for connection.
None of this happens without caregivers.
They are the ones who help residents build routines, strengthen independence, nurture relationships, and experience meaningful community. They support families. They celebrate milestones. They encourage progress, sometimes in small, quiet steps and sometimes in transformative leaps.
Our vision is clear
People with brain injuries leading connected, interdependent lives.
Our mission is purposeful
Adeo supports people with brain injuries and their families by providing services tailored to meet individual needs.
Caregivers are the living expression of that mission. Through their commitment, individuals are not simply supported. They are empowered. They are not defined by limitations. They are encouraged toward possibility. They are reminded that progress is always within reach.
You embody life, elevated, and we are deeply grateful for all you do.
Employee Spotlight: Dave Koplitz
In Adeo’s evolving landscape, one employee stands out as a steadfast cornerstone: Dave Koplitz. With over 18 years of dedicated service, Dave has remained a constant through both prosperous and challenging times. His knowledge of Adeo is unparalleled—he’s forgotten more about the organization than most people will ever know.
Dave joined Adeo in 2007 during a significant economic downturn. Rather than feeling daunted, he found a welcoming community he proudly calls home. As a maintenance tech, his role is more than a job—it’s a calling. Whether fixing everyday issues or building new structures, Dave ensures everything runs smoothly, approaching each task with unwavering dedication.
Among his many accomplishments, his favorite project is the small office he built himself. The space serves as a hub where he plans maintenance work and completes smaller projects, improving overall efficiency.
Beyond his technical skills, Dave is defined by his passion for helping others, especially the residents who inspire him. He has devoted much of his learning to understanding traumatic brain injuries and their effects, striving to improve residents’ quality of life. One of his proudest achievements was remodeling ten bathrooms to make them wheelchair accessible—an effort that reflects his commitment to service. For Dave, every project tells a story and represents someone’s needs and aspirations.
Outside of work, he enjoys camping, off-roading in his Jeep, and working on vehicles—activities that recharge him and reflect his hands-on spirit.
Dave embodies resilience and compassion. His dedication and heart make him not just an employee, but an invaluable member of the Adeo family.
